R&D Analyst

Job Content:

• Responsible for the production of lab samples for the purpose of physical & chemical evaluation, consumer testing, external analysis for regulatory / legal compliance.
• Carry out the required testing on products (performance, stability, analytical) and ensure that the test methods and results are recorded in the appropriate way.
• Presentation of results of these tests and investigation to their line manager, using the appropriate format and mentioning any issues or unusual results.
• Investigate any quality testing issues to understand root cause
• Validation of new analytical test methods including those using HPLC and GC technology.
• Lead lab trials, pilot plant trials and industrial plant trial, for the validation of manufacturing processes as well as production of samples for consumer testing and stability testing
• Responsible, with other colleagues, for the maintenance of cleanliness standards of laboratory equipment and working space.
• Responsible, with other colleagues, for the management of the day-to-day supply of the laboratory including raw materials, finished product samples & competitor samples.
• Ensure, with his/her colleagues that the required safety measures are in place.  Reports any deviation to line-manager or Health and Safety representative.
• Maintain the lab chemical/ reagents record up to date.
• Maintain calibration record of those lab instruments/ equipments you are responsible.
• Contact to related instrument service engineer for PM and calibration in time so that no instrument due for calibration
• Liaise with engineering and external suppliers to complete repairs of any laboratory equipment
• Suggest improvement on products, methods or management of the laboratory.
• Lead small R&D projects, with support from line manager

Job Requirement:

• Minimum Graduate (S1) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related science
• Preferred. Ideally 1 - 2 years experience in Analyst, R&D formulation development, new product development, supply technical, QA, or other role involving analytical work and / or solving formulation technical problem
• Strong analytical skill
• Experienced in handling HPLC, GC and UV spectrophotometer preferential
• Results oriented, entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with solid planning and organisation skills
• Proven track record as a top performer in technical problem solving
• Strong communication skills (Oral and Written English skill is mandatory)
• Proven ability to work independently (self motivated, disciplined) and as part of a team
• Good Computer literate
• Results oriented, entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with solid planning and organizational capabilities, a bias for action
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good communication skills – both to an individual and in group environment
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong intellectual curiosity with an appetite for exploring new and previously uncharted territories and an openness to change and ability to think out of the box
